Endurance Project Management worked with CareerRise and Construction Ready to address job quality issues impacting new hire retention and advancement at construction companies hiring out of the Construction Ready program. Through this project, Endurance was able to:

Complete surveys and focus groups, analyze data of select employers, employees and former employees participating in the Construction Ready Program.

Implement new practices with two construction companies (Career Pathways, Career Mentorship Program and Internal Training)

Launch a recognition program for employers who hire Construction Ready graduates that adopt some Job Quality practices

Throughout this work, one of the key components was to ensure that the voice of frontline workers was heard. In order to achieve this, Endurance conducted interviews with frontline workers to create Career Pathways and to better understand and address the disconnect between frontline workers and management.

The two companies that EPM worked with DPR and Astra Group, continued this work after the conclusion of the grant. DPR created a new position focused on job quality of frontline workers and replicated the work across their other divisions nationally. Astra Group implemented an inhouse career prep and mentorship program to help build their specialty skill workforce.
